Celtic managed to make quite a few additions to their Premiership and League Cup-winning squad this summer. While we have not seen much from any of them other than Moritz Jenz till now, their arrival has certainly added a lot of much needed depth to the squad and will help the team a lot in the long run, as the season progresses and the knocks and injuries pile up.

One of the late signings of the summer transfer window was Sead Haksabanovic, who was signed from Rubin Kazan. Rumours suggested that the Hoops were interested in him last summer as well and got their man this time around.

Haksabanovic was given a surprise start in the game against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and was involved in the build up to Celtic’s goal. But he would fade away as the game went on and was subbed off at half-time.

Now, Ange Postecoglou has shed some light on Haksabanovic’s fitness situation and also admitted that he is showing his quality in training. As reported by the Glasgow Times, the Celtic manager said:

"“He’s settling in well. He’s a very good player. We knew that 45 minutes was the maximum we’d get out of him the other night and it worked out that way. But we’ve seen the quality he has got in training. It’s just about building his fitness up.“He is fitting in really well to the environment we have created here and he gives us a good option in the wide areas with his technical ability and his finishing. I think he’ll be a really big goal threat for us. After Sunday and the international break he’ll really be ready to get going.“Sead is very serious about his football and he’s very ambitious as well. There’s no better club than here to show those attributes.”"

Celtic summer signing is already impressing Postecoglou in training

It will be very interesting to see what Haksabanovic can produce after the international break, because he seems to have impressed Postecoglou in training already.

It will add another option to this Celtic team going forward as Haksabanovic can play on the wings as well as an attacking midfielder, although it is believed that it is in the number 10 role that he is at his best. Time shall tell.

There certainly seems to be quite a bit of excitement around Haksabanovic and what he can produce for Celtic moving forward. Let’s see if he can deliver on that promise. With the kind of football the Hoops are playing, he will certainly have his chances to put the ball into the back of the net and set up his teammates to do the same.
