Celtic might not have won a game in this season’s Champions League till now but they are making quite the impression. In the match against Real Madrid, they were the better team for large parts and it was only their lack of finishing that allowed it to end 3-0 in favour of the European champions.

Unfortunately, Celtic left their shooting boots at home against Shakhtar Donetsk as well. Ange Postecoglou’s side once again put in a very good display in Europe’s elite competition but only had a 1-1 draw to show for it. Based on the quality of their chances, they should have scored three or four.

Postecoglou is earning a lot of plaudits as well and Owen Hargreaves believes that the kind of football that this Celtic side are playing, will only raise interest in the manager from Premier League sides, especially since he is proving it in the Champions League as well.

As reported by Glasgow Times, Hargreaves told BT Sport:

"“It’s really nice football. He’s playing such good football at Celtic that the Premier League is going to take notice.“To do it in Europe and the Champions League, people want to do it with style, and that’s what his teams do.”"

Hargreaves’ claim will worry Celtic fans

It is safe to say that if Celtic continue to play like this and keep on enjoying success, then sooner or later, Premier League clubs will come calling for the services of Postecoglou.

In fact, he is already being linked with the Brighton & Hove Albion job and did not really dismiss the rumours when asked about them either.

Celtic fans will be hoping that Postecoglou remains at Parkhead for as long as possible because the transformation that this side has undergone over the past year or so, under his management is absolutely remarkable and it is hard to think of anybody else who could have overseen that.

Let’s see what the future holds for Postecoglou. Hopefully the allure of managing in the Champions League will be enough to keep him at Parkhead for the foreseeable future. It must be pointed out though that he did leave his last club in the middle of the season to join Celtic.
