It has been a week since Celtic played Real Madrid at Parkhead, and since then, both teams have played their respective second games of the ongoing Champions League campaign as well. But fans and players alike continue to talk about the meeting of the Scottish giants and the European champions.

It was quite the spectacle as one would have expected and the only shame was that Celtic could not find the back of the net, because Parkhead would have been absolutely rocking.

The Hoops were the better team in the first half and should have been two or three goals up by the time Real Madrid scored their first. Los Blancos would ultimately take control of the game in the second half though and walked out with a 3-0 win. The scoreline did not tell the full story though, as the match was quite tight for the most part.

5-time Champions League winner, Toni Kroos, seems to have been blow away by the atmosphere at Celtic Park though and especially by the respect shown to the Real Madrid players. As reported by The Scottish Sun, while speaking on the Einfach mal Luppen podcast, he said:

"“The real special thing was, not only did (the Celtic fans) push their team but they respected us, there was no hate.“I am used to a lot over all these years, but this really impressed me heavily. A great experience!”"

Celtic Park is a stadium that a lot of the greats of the game have praised over the years, like Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Kaka, Bastian Schweinsteiger and many more.

And now, it looks like we can add the name of Kroos to that quickly growing list as well, as he seems to have enjoyed his Parkhead experience very much.

While it is great to see that players like to play at Celtic Park, that should not always be the case as well though. At some point, the Hoops need to make use of the incredible atmosphere on big European nights and convert them into some memorable wins.
