Celtic: Ange Postecoglou’s stance on Brighton job made clear
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with the vacant Brighton & Hove Albion managerial job recently. Graham Potter did a magnificent job with the Seagulls, who currently sit at fourth in the Premier League table, but ended up leaving for Chelsea recently, after the Blues decided to shockingly sack their Champions League-winning boss, Thomas Tuchel.
Thus, it appears to have started a domino effect in terms of managers and could Celtic be in danger of being caught up in the middle of it.
Many people have questioned whether Postecoglou would even be interested in leaving Celtic and the opportunity to manage in the Champions League, for Brighton & Hove Albion. And now, it looks like we might finally know the answer to that.
As reported by The Telegraph (via Daily Record), Brighton & Hove Albion have been intrigued by Postecoglou but it’s understood that the Celtic manager will not “abandon” his work at Parkhead.
Postecoglou not planning to leave Celtic for Brighton & Hove Albion job
It is great to see that Postecoglou is not planning to leave Celtic for the Brighton & Hove Albion job. The former Australian national team boss has already earned himself cult status among the fans.
When he arrived at the club last summer, Celtic were coming off of a disaster of a season, when they had finished trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in the league.
He turned that team around in a very, very short period of time and ended up guiding them to a Premiership and Scottish League Cup double. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the Celtic fans do not want to see him leave anytime soon.
Brendan Rodgers had left the club in the middle of the season a few years back, and it is understandable why the fans might get worried whenever Postecoglou gets linked with a move to the Premier League as well. But it feels like unless an incredible offer comes in, the Australian will not be leaving Parkhead anytime soon. As things stand, they sit top of the league table and are in the Champions League.
