Celtic’s winning start to the season might have come to an end at the hands of Real Madrid in the Champions League, but even then, Ange Postecoglou’s side were able to impress the footballing world. Just as promised, they did not change their footballing philosophy and sit back just because they were up against the European champions.

Instead, the Hoops had a proper go at Real Madrid and in fact dominated the first half an hour of play. If they had taken their chances, they should have been at least a goal or two ahead, by the time Real Madrid did manage to score in the second half. Ultimately, a defeat against Los Blancos felt disappointing, which just goes on to show how good they were.

In the league, Celtic have been a cut above the rest. They won the first Glasgow Derby of the season over the Rangers by a 4-0 scoreline and are already ahead by five points, after just the first six games of the campaign.

Former Rangers manager, Alex McLeish, certainly seems to have been impressed with what he has seen from Celtic till now. As reported by Football Insider, he said:

"“Celtic have been absolutely on fire.“Last weekend, even when Rangers were having a go at them, trying to get back into the game, they were a solid unit.“The back four have been at their A-game all season. No one has really had a sniff at them all season.“It has been an incredible start, you have to hold your hands up and admit that. All of their players are in form.“They have been great to watch as well. They score a lot of goals and it’s hard to see them losing that momentum in the league any time soon.”"

Former Rangers manager makes brilliant and honest Celtic admission

It is safe to say that Celtic fans are delighted with the start that they have made to this season. Of course, this is just the start and things could turn on their head in a very short period of time.

But to be honest, it does not feel like this is a team that will take any game or opponent lightly, and always seem to have their head in the games, big or small.

On the other hand, with the performance against Real Madrid, hopes have been raised that Celtic can make it out of their group in the Champions League as well, if they can continue like this. RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk are the other two teams in it.
