After the manner in which Brendan Rodgers left Celtic in early 2019 to join Leicester City, in the middle of a campaign, it is only natural that the fans are worried whenever their manager is linked with a move to the Premier League. And recently, rumours had broken out that Ange Postecoglou was one of the favourites for the Brighton & Hove Albion job.

Graham Potter recently left Brighton & Hove Albion to join Chelsea, and that has left a vacant managerial spot at the club. The Seagulls currently sit fourth in the Premier League.

Postecoglou has done a remarkable job since arriving at Celtic last summer. He guided the club to a Premiership and League Cup double last season, already has them five points ahead in the title race this time around and the Hoops showed against Real Madrid that they could go toe-to-toe with the best. That is an incredible turnaround when you consider where this team was when the former Australian national team boss joined.

Thus, it would not be a surprise if Postecoglou did catch the eye of a club like Brighton & Hove Albion. But fortunately, that might not be the case this time around.

Brighton & Hove Albion hand massive Postecoglou boost to Celtic

As reported by The Athletic (via The Sun), Brighton & Hove Albion have four men in mind to become their new manager. The names on the shortlist are that of Steve Cooper of Nottingham Forest, Kjetil Knutsen of Bodo/Glimt, Russell Martin of Swansea City and Nathan Jones of Luton Town.

Thus, it looks like Postecoglou is not a name on the shortlist of Brighton & Hove Albion to replace Potter as their manager.

That is good news for Celtic without a shadow of a doubt. While there were huge question marks over whether Postecoglou would even consider leaving, strangers things have happened.
