The timing of Tom Rogic’s Celtic exit had left a lot of fans confused. The Australian had remained at Parkhead through many highs and lows in his career. In fact, he had not be a regular part of the first-team for a few years before the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. Things changed after that though.

Postecoglou got Rogic playing some of the best football of his career and he established himself in the starting XI once again. The Australian came up with some huge moments and big goals last season, as Celtic won the Premiership and League Cup double against all odds and expectations.

Surprisingly though, Rogic decided to leave Celtic at the end of last season and look for a new challenge. Not many people would have expected him to do that, after working so hard and waiting so long to get back into the first-team mix. But then, he had done it all at Parkhead.

Rogic failed to find a new club during the summer transfer window though, despite being a free agent. But now, it looks like he could be set to find his new home after leaving Celtic.

Rogic finally close to joining new club after Celtic exit at the end of last season

As tweeted out by John Percy, Rogic is in talks with West Bromwich Albion and is expected to sign with the Championship club.

West Brom are currently not going through the best of campaigns in the Championship and could do with the creativity of someone like Rogic.

On the other hand, it will be a different experience for Rogic as well, to play in England, albeit in the second division.

It remains to be seen if the move goes through or not, but at the moment, all signs seem to be pointing towards Rogic joining West Brom as a free agent.
