Despite his undeniable success and achievements at Celtic, there is very little doubt about the fact that the manner of Brendan Rodgers’ exit left a bitter taste in the mouths of the supporters. And that is a major reason why he often does not get the credit that he deserves for the job that he did during his time at Parkhead, winning every domestic title available.
Ange Postecoglou is a beloved figure amongst Celtic fans. Not only has he brought success on the pitch but has done so under the most difficult of circumstances. But recently, he has been linked with an exit that would compare to that of Rodgers’ move to Leicester City.
Postecoglou is being linked with the Brighton & Hove Albion job, after Graham Potter left the Seagulls to join Chelsea.
But as reported by The Sun, Rodgers is the new favourite to replace Potter at Brighton & Hove Albion, when it comes to the latest odds.
Rodgers could hand unexpected boost to Celtic
Rodgers is still at Leicester City but The Foxes have made a terrible start to the season. They are yet to win a game and are currently sitting at the very bottom of the Premier League table.
On the other hand, Brighton & Hove Albion are sitting at fourth. As a result, it is not hard to see why Rodgers joining The Seagulls would make sense, for all parties involved.
The big question also is – would Postecoglou leave Celtic in the middle of the season to join Brighton & Hove Albion?
Postecoglou has the chance to manage in the Champions League at Parkhead and has his team playing in front of 60,000 fans every week. Would he be keen to give that up?
It does not feel like so but strangers things have happened in football. Let’s see how things play out.
