The last few days have not been good for the Rangers, as they suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Celtic in the first Glasgow Derby of the season and then lost by the same scoreline in the opening game of the Champions League, this time against Ajax. Thus, things are not looking good for them at the moment.

Celtic are already five points up in the Premiership table and this could be a potential opportunity for them to further increase that gap, in case Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side end up stumbling in the league.

There is every possibility in the world that the Rangers might look to use the league to bounce back, but if they fail to do so, Celtic should not let the opportunity go to widen the gulf between the two sides.

Celtic hero, Chris Sutton, is someone who is known to enjoy a tweet or two at the expense of the Rangers, and his latest one was not taken too kindly by the Ibrox club’s supporters for sure:

Sutton’s tweet is of course is in reference to the claim ahead of the Glasgow Derby that Van Bronckhorst had sussed Ange Postecoglou. There was also talk of the Dutch manager having multiple plans while the Celtic boss had only one in his arsenal.

We all know how that game went. For the second time in about six months, Celtic put three past the Rangers in the first half itself at Parkhead. This time around, they did manage to find a fourth as well though as the game ended 4-0 in favour of the Scottish champions, and sent them five points clear at the top of the table.

And the Rangers’ Champions League campaign has started in the very same manner. A 4-0 defeat.
