Ange Postecoglou has done a fantastic job ever since taking over as Celtic manager last summer. Back then, he was an unknown in European football, despite his successes in Japan and Australia. They sure do know his name now though. The Hoops’ performance in the first-half against Real Madrid, when they went toe-to-toe with the European champions and outperformed them, goes to show how far the team has come under his management.

Not only have Celtic done well on the pitch though but Postecoglou has also been successful in bringing the fan base together. Thus, sooner or later, he was bound to catch the eyes of the biggest sides in Europe.

Chelsea shockingly sacked their Champions League-winning manager, Thomas Tuchel, after just seven games this season, after a rocky start to the campaign. And now, they are on the hunt for a replacement.

As reported by The Herald, Postecoglou has been listed among the favourites by bookies for the vacant Chelsea job.

Chelsea have been linked with quite a few managers today, following the shock sacking of Tuchel. The three names who seem to be in the front of the queue though are that of Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane.

Someone like Postecoglou could potentially be an outside of the box choice for the Blues to go after, but at the same time, it is hard to see it happening.

Chelsea are a team who one would expect to go for a glamourous name, and for all his successes in recent times, Postecoglou is not one of them.

Also, it feels unlikely that Postecoglou would leave the Celtic job in order to join the managerial merry-go-round at Chelsea.

But it is also important to point out that he did leave his last club, Yokohama F. Marinos, in the middle of the season in order to join Celtic.
