Celtic might have had a weekend to remember with their 4-0 win over the Rangers in the first Glasgow Derby of the season but they have no time to rest or celebrate. They are set to take part in arguably an even bigger game this midweek, when they mark their return to the UEFA Champions League by welcoming Real Madrid to Parkhead in the group stage opener.

Not only are Real Madrid fourteen times winners of the Champions League but they are the defending champions as well, and have the likes of Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior and several other world-class players in their squad.

On the other hand, Celtic might not have that sort of pedigree or experience in their squad, but on top of their game, Ange Postecoglou’s side can give troubles to most teams, even Real Madrid. And they have been handed a massive boost ahead of the UEFA Champions League opener.

As reported by The Scotsman, Kyogo Furuhashi was involved in training on Monday morning. The Japanese star was involved in running drills and ball work in the session.

Kyogo had suffered a shoulder injury in the game against the Rangers, and was forced off the pitch early on in the Glasgow Derby.

He did take part during the celebrations after the match though, which had raised the hopes of the supporters and now it looks like the injury might not have been as serious as feared and the substitution was only precautionary.

Now, it remains to be seen if Kyogo does end up featuring against Real Madrid or not. It is safe to say that he is a huge part of this Celtic team and has made an incredible start to the season.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 6 goals in 6 appearances this season while playing 355 minutes of football.
