Celtic capped off their weekend in style with a 4-0 win over the Rangers in the first Glasgow Derby of the season to go five points clear at the top of the Premiership table this early on in the campaign. But the big games don’t stop coming at Parkhead, with the next ones visiting being the current European champions, Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have made a perfect start to their season, just like Celtic, and will be looking to defend their European crown, which they won last season under incredible circumstances, making late comebacks against PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City.

There is no doubt about the fact that Real Madrid will be the favourites coming into the game, but Celtic have shown in the past that they can get the better of top class opposition. In 2012, they managed to beat the legendary Barcelona side that consisted of the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi and many other big names, which many consider to be better than even the current Los Blancos unit.

Thus, it would be a mistake to count the Hoops out. One thing we know for sure is that they will stick to their brand of intense attacking football and let’s see where it takes them from there.
