For most clubs, beating the Rangers 4-0 would be the highlight of the season, but Celtic arguably have an even bigger game coming up in just a few days. The Hoops will mark their return to the Champions League in the grandest way possible by welcoming 14-time European champions and current holders, Real Madrid, to Parkhead.

Games of these magnitude do not come around too often and it is an opportunity for Celtic to create some more special memories in Europe, ten years after they got the better of the legendary Barcelona side that boasted the like of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi and several more all-time greats.

The 4-0 win over the Rangers will surely give Celtic confidence heading into the game against Real Madrid, who have also won all their league games this season till now. Postecoglou certainly seems to be confident in his side.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, when asked by BBC Radio Scotland whether Celtic can win the upcoming fixture following the dominant Glasgow Derby victory, Postecoglou said:

"“Yeah, why not? All we can do is keep doing what we’re doing. We’re playing against an unbelievable football team, of great pedigree.“We’ll go out there and test ourselves. We’ll go out there and play our football and test ourselves. That’s always been our marker. We want to go out there and be ourselves and give the best of ourselves and see where it takes us.”"

Postecoglou makes Real Madrid declaration after Celtic’s 4-0 win vs Rangers

That is certainly one thing that Postecoglou has not steered away from during his time as Celtic manager, and that is playing his brand of football.

Of course, there were some growing pains early on, but once Celtic have gotten the hang of it, it has produced some magnificent results and they seem to be only getting better.

Real Madrid have some incredible players though, like Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Vinicius Junior, who could give Celtic nightmares. On the other hand, the Hoops look set to be without key players like Kyogo and Carl Starfelt, both of whom got injured against the Rangers.

So, can the Hoops beat Real Madrid? Of course, it will be a mountain to climb. But, why not?
