Both Celtic and the Rangers have reasons to be confident, heading into the first Glasgow Derby of the season. The Hoops have a two-point advantage in the league table but will know that that slim of a lead can be easily overturned, if they are not careful. The previous title race was decided by merely four points and thus, these games could end up having major implications on the destination of the trophy come the end of the season.

Celtic have been in spectacular form coming into this game. They got a 9-0 win over Dundee United last weekend and then beat Ross County 4-1 in the Scottish League Cup. Both games were away from home.

The Hoops will have the home advantage against the Rangers this weekend though. And they must make the most out of it.

Amidst all this, there is an update regarding the situation of Alfredo Morelos for the Rangers. The Colombian striker will return to the squad after missing the last several games. As reported by The National, Giovanni van Bronckhorst said:

"“Yes, Alfredo is in the squad for tomorrow. I had a good talk with him last Sunday and I think he understood the message and also worked hard to be back and to help the team because he is still a quality player with a lot of threat in front of goal.“He has been training this week, very positive, so he will be included in the squad.”"

Morelos will return to Rangers’ squad vs Celtic

Morelos had picked up a red card against Hibernian, in a game that ended 2-2. That led to him being suspended for the next two domestic games. On the other hand, the Colombian was left out of the squad vs PSV Eindhoven.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Morelos has made 4 appearances this season, scored just once and played 73 minutes of football in total.

Morelos’ record against Celtic is nothing to write home about either. Thus, one has to feel that the Hoops will have bigger worries heading into the Glasgow Derby, but at the same time, it would be a mistake to write off any player.

Celtic need to bring their A-game when they face the Rangers this weekend. Anything less could prove to be a huge risk.
