Another Celtic player completes last-minute Parkhead exit
Celtic have been pretty relentless this summer when it comes to making changes to their squad. The Hoops have brought in a number of players while also letting quite a few go, who did not have any clear roles in the first-team set up. We might be heading towards the very end of the ongoing transfer window as well, but things are not still at Parkhead.
Hints have been dropped that Celtic could still bring in more players to Parkhead before the end of the transfer window. On the other hand, players continue to depart the club as well.
Albian Ajeti joins the list of players on their way out of Parkhead. Celtic confirmed on Twitter that the Swiss striker had joined SK Sturm Graz on a season-long loan.
SK Sturm Graz are a solid team in the Austrian Bundesliga. They currently sit at third in the league table, while they finished the previous campaign in second.
Another Celtic player leaves the club on loan before the end of the summer transfer window
Ajeti joining a club like SK Sturm Graz makes sense. One would expect that he would get regular playing time there and it is also a team, who you would expect to create enough chances for him to score goals.
While this is just a loan deal, it does not feel like Ajeti has a long-term future at Celtic, no matter how it turns out.
Since joining Celtic from West Ham United in the summer of 2020, he has struggled badly to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
And with the club now having options like Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis, both in excellent form in front of goal and almost scoring for fun at times, it is hard to see Ajeti returning after his loan spell and getting into the first-team.
