Albian Ajeti’s time at Celtic has been a bit of a nightmare for the striker. The Hoops had signed him in the summer of 2020 from West Ham United. In many ways, he was the marquee arrival of that window and was expected to power the club towards 10IAR. We all know how that turned out and now, the Swiss international struggles to even get appearances off the bench.

Interestingly, it had started pretty well for Ajeti at Celtic. He quickly racked up his first five goals for the club and at one point of time, was averaging a goal every 47 minutes in the league. He would end up picking up an injury at the wrong time though and has never managed to rediscover that early form.

At this point of time, Ajeti leaving Celtic seems like the best step for all parties involved, but with just days left in the transfer window, nothing has transpired till now.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Ajeti is looking to leave the club before the end of the transfer window and Celtic will not stand in his way. He hasn’t been convinced by the clubs who have expressed an interest so far, but knows time is running out.

Thus, it does not look like either Celtic or Ajeti are opposed to the idea of a Parkhead exit this summer.

But till now, Ajeti has not received an offer that he is really interested in. It remains to be seen if the situation changes over the coming days or not.

Rumours have also suggested that Celtic could go after another striker this summer if Ajeti leaves but for now, things appear to have stagnated in that regard, as the Swiss international is still at Parkhead.
