Celtic have already strengthened all over the pitch this summer, bringing in several new faces to the club while also managing to keep the core of their double-winning side from last season together, minus Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton, both of whom decided to leave at the end of the previous campaign.

The squad looks pretty strong though, as Celtic look ready to challenge for the Premiership title once again, after having won it against all odds last time around. They also have the small matter of coming up in the Champions League against clubs like Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk.

It looks like Celtic could still remain active in the summer transfer market though, before it slams shut in a few days. And they might make a return for St Mirren midfielder, Dylan Reid. The club had had a £125,000 transfer bid accepted for him earlier on in the window but failed to convince him to move to Parkhead.

But as reported by Football Scotland, Celtic have made another attempt to prise the midfielder away from St Mirren and into their developmental ranks. It is understood that the Hoops will do what they can to entice the player to join ahead of Thursday night’s transfer deadline.

Celtic will try to sign the St Mirren midfielder once again

Thus, it feels like Celtic are pretty convinced that Reid is a star of the future and want to bring him to Parkhead as early as possible.

It remains to be seen if they are successful in their second attempt, having failed at their first try even though a transfer bid had been accepted by the Buddies.

Reid seems to have interest in him from down South as well and it remains to be seen if he would be open to a St Mirren exit this late.
