Celtic have made a flying start to their Premiership title defence, with a run of successive wins giving them an overall edge over the Rangers. A two-point lead to be exact. The Hoops have enjoyed an active summer transfer window as well. From keeping hold of their best players to reinforcing other areas of the pitch with new names, the Scottish giants have done extremely well in all aspects.

As it stands, only a few days are left in the summer transfer window. But rumours of both incomings and outgoings appear to be keeping the rumour mill busy for Celtic. Could the Hoops make a late swoop for anyone? Could some players be on their way out?

The likes of Matt O’Riley and Josip Juranovic have been linked with big moves but it is hard to see them leaving at this stage. There are the likes of Albian Ajeti and James McCarthy though, who do not have a clear role in the team and whose late exits would not hurt the side.

On the other hand, there is the potential that the Hoops could make another signing this summer. Rumours have suggested that they are still looking for another striker and midfielder. It remains to be seen if those are accurate.

Celtic boss hints at another potential signing

It looks like Celtic could potentially bring in another player but that could depend on the outgoings. As reported by Glasgow Live, Ange Postecoglou said:

"“I’d be very surprised if anyone wants to leave this place at the moment. We’ll see how the next few days go.“There’s the possibility of a couple of outgoings. And that could give us the opportunity to bring another one in. But there’s nothing fixed.“If the right opportunity came along, we might add one more. If we don’t – I’m happy with the business we’ve done. It was great to get Sead finally done.“I’m pleased to get a player who will fit in well with us. He’s only 23 but already has great experience with clubs and at international level. He’ll be a great asset for us.”"

The talks of new arrivals always excite the fans, but making too many changes to a well-oiled team could act as a double-edged sword.

The current Celtic squad should be enough to make them a formidable side in Europe this season. We saw them give a tough time to teams like Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen last season, and they were not even playing that well at that point of time.
