Celtic were handed the toughest game possible on the Champions League calendar when they were drawn against Real Madrid. Not only are the Spanish giants 14-time winners of the competition but they are also the reigning holders of the cup with the big ears. The Hoops will be welcoming Carlo Ancelotti’s side to Parkhead in the first game of the European season.

It goes without saying that fans will be counting down the days to that game already and one can expect Celtic Park to be absolutely rocking on the day.

On the other hand, both fans and players must be looking forward to their visit later on in the season to the legendary Santiago Bernabeu to take on the European champions as well. Playing in that stadium must be on the bucket list of quite a few players.

Ange Postecoglou though, seems to have his eyes on one thing and one thing only, and that is on winning. As reported by Celtic’s official website, the manager said:

"“I’m not one to say I’ve done this or that, it’s more important we go there to Madrid and have a positive experience and that’s by playing good football against the best.“You can pay for a tour of the Bernabeu, anyone can do that, as an experience it’s not that unique.“What you want to make sure is that when you have these opportunities it’s better to swap shirts with players you admire after you’ve knocked them off, rather than just grabbing one for your collection.”"

Postecoglou makes sensational claim about Celtic’s game against Real Madrid

It is this kind of attitude that helped Postecoglou turn a Celtic team around, that had absolutely zero expectations surrounding them when he arrived last summer. Can he take them to new heights in Europe as well?

It has been 10 years since Celtic pulled off an incredible 2-1 win over Barcelona at Parkhead, in a game that is remembered to this day. What better way to celebrate its 10th year anniversary than by doing the same to their eternal rivals, Real Madrid.

Of course, that is easier said than done, as Real Madrid boast of some spectacular players like Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, just to name a few. Thus, the Bhoys will need to be at the very top of their games to make the two fixtures even competitive.
