Celtic’s biggest strength since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager last summer has been their recruitment as the former Australian national team boss has shown an incredible eye for players, who can fit into his style of football. Thus, the Hoops went into the 2021/22 campaign with almost zero expectations and came out of it with a Premiership and League Cup double, and a guaranteed spot in the Champions League.

We already know who they will be facing in Europe’s elite competition this season as they have been placed in a group with Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk. An exciting time to be a Celtic fan for sure.

Naturally, playing in the Champions League is a huge opportunity for a number of Celtic players to prove themselves in front of the eyes of the world. Some of them though, are already drawing the interest of some of football’s biggest clubs.

As reported by ESPN, Matt O’Riley is attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United. Celtic have no interest in letting him go but a transfer bid in the region of £15 million to £20 million would be tempting.

When Celtic signed O’Riley from MK Dons in January, a lot of eyebrows had been raised. While he was playing well, at the end of the day, it was at the English League One level.

The Danish youth international has to taken to the Premiership like a duck to water though and is already a regular starter for Celtic, following Tom Rogic’s exit at the end of last season.

With the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe in him, it will be interesting to see how long the Hoops are able to keep him at Parkhead. The Champions League will be a great chance for him to further raise his transfer value.
