Celtic have had a great record when it comes to transfers since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. It has helped them discover stars like Jota, Kyogo, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josip Juranovic, Matt O’Riley and several more, in just a few transfer windows, and there is no reason that that won’t continue.

But that does not mean that every transfer move has been a success, because it quite clearly has not, and to be honest, it never will be. That’s just football. Yosuke Ideguchi’s move to the club is a case in point.

Ideguchi suffered an injury soon after joining the club, which prevented him from making an early impression and stake his claim for a first-team spot, like Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda did. And now, his 2022/23 campaign has gotten off to a terrible start as well, as he suffered a nasty injury in training which has kept him out of action for a significant length of time already.

There is some good news though. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Ideguchi was spotted back on the training pitch this afternoon as his recovery from injury continues.

Ideguchi makes his return to Celtic training after injury nightmare

Celtic signed Ideguchi from Gamba Osaka in January and in many ways, it was the most interesting move of the window. Unlike Hatate or Maeda, he was not coming off of a great J-League campaign. Thus, it was a signing made, based on potential.

Till now, it has not worked out at all, but a lot of that has had to do with his terrible luck with injuries and not his performances.

Fans will be hoping to see a lot more of him on the pitch, once he fully recovers from this one and hopefully, he will remain fit moving forward for a while at least.
