Surprise fee Celtic have signed Sead Haksabanovic for revealed
Celtic have continued on with their strengthening of the squad this summer and signed Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan. The Montenegro international star had been one of the best players in the Swedish league before joining the Russian club last summer in a transfer deal believed to be around €6.5 million.
It is safe to say that things did not go according to plan there, as Haksabanovic struggled in a Rubin Kazan shirt.
He was believed to be training on his own and now, has left the club for a fraction of the transfer fee that Rubin Kazan signed him for from IFK Norrkoping just last summer.
As reported by Sport Business Gazeta (via Daily Record), Rubin Kazan accepted a €2 million (£1.7 million) offer from Celtic for Haksabanovic. Thus, it is safe to say that it is a bargain of a deal for the Hoops.
Celtic have managed to sign Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan for massive bargain
It goes without saying that this could prove to be a transfer masterstroke on the part of Celtic in the long run. At the end of the day, while the international star might not have had an easy time at Rubin Kazan, there is no question about his talent or potential. He was one of the best players during his time in Sweden for a reason.
Also, one has to point out the fact that Ange Postecoglou has shown an incredible eye for talent and picking players who fit into his system during his time at Celtic. One would hope this is one such instance.
There are some questions about Haksabanovic’s best position on the pitch as he has mostly played as a winger in recent times. But, many believe that he is at his best in an attacking midfield position and that is the role that he could occupy on the pitch for Celtic, and serve as the replacement for Tom Rogic, while also covering on the wing if the situation calls for it.
