Celtic: Sead Haksabanovic ends confusion about his position
Celtic have pulled off the signing of Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan, just a summer after the Russian club had shelled out a transfer fee in the region of €6.5 million to sign him from IFK Norrkoping. The Hoops are believed to have only paid a transfer fee around €2 million to sign him though, which has to be considered as a massive bargain.
Many believe though that Celtic did not need to make a move for Haksabanovic. He has mostly played on the left-wing over the years and Celtic have both Jota and Daizen Maeda capable of playing there.
But at the same time, many believe that his best position is as an attacking midfielder and if that is the case, the move would make a lot more sense, as Celtic did see Tom Rogic walk out of the club this summer and have not brought in a like for like replacement till now.
Thus, there has been some confusion about the Montenegro international star’s position but thankfully, it has been cleared up by the player himself, as he joined Celtic.
Haksabanovic clears up confusion about his position after joining Celtic
While speaking on Celtic’s official YouTube channel, Haksabanovic described himself as a playmaker with some flair and someone who is good one on one, with a powerful shot and is quick.
Ange Postecoglou has shown a brilliant eye for picking out players who fit into his system of football and that is the biggest reason behind how quickly Celtic have been able to turn things around under his management.
Thus, fans will be putting their trust that the manager has brought in Haksabanovic with a clear role to play in this team in mind.
While he might not have had a great time at Rubin Kazan, there is no question about his talent or potential, and he was one of the best players in the Swedish league during his time there. If things work out well, the Hoops might very well have pulled off the transfer masterstroke of this summer window.
