Celtic and the Rangers are expected to battle it out for the Premiership title this season, like they did last time around, with the Hoops coming out on top against all expectations. They have taken the first step forward this season as well, as the club now have a two-point lead over the Ibrox side, who could only manage a 2-2 draw vs Hibernian after having two players sent off.

It is not just on the pitch that the two Glasgow rivals might end up battling each other though but off it as well, as both are interested in Queen’s Park FC wonderkid, Cameron Bruce.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic and Rangers are in a tug of war to sign Bruce and both have had bids rejected for the 16-year-old left-back. They are not the only ones after the youngster though. He is being tracked by major Premier League clubs as well. It is believed though that Queen’s Park have no intention of letting him go.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Bruce has made 2 senior appearances for Queen’s Park, playing 74 minutes of football in total.

The highest level that Bruce has played at till now is the Scottish League One but just that has been enough to catch the eye of two of the biggest clubs in Scotland and major outfits down South.

Thus, it is safe to say that he is quite the talent and if Celtic are able to sign him, it would be considered as a major coup on their part.

Now, it remains to be seen if they can convince Queen’s Park to part ways with their brightest prospect. The club are currently playing in the Championship but will have hopes of winning promotion to the Premiership and have made a solid start to their campaign as well.

Celtic have already had a tough time keeping their best youngsters away from Premier League clubs. Can they compete with them for Bruce?
