Another Celtic star could leave after Christopher Jullien
Christopher Jullien has sealed a Celtic exit and joined Montpellier, completing a return to Ligue 1. The Hoops had signed the defender from Toulouse in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee around £7 million, making him the second most expensive signing in the history of the club but have been forced to let him go for a fraction of that after two injury-ravaged seasons for the Frenchman.
Jullien had some big moments in a Celtic shirt for sure, whether it be the goal against Lazio or the one that won them the Scottish League Cup against the Rangers. Ultimately though, it was the right time to move on as he had slipped down to being the fifth choice centre-back at the club.
Another player could follow him out of the Parkhead exit door as well, and he did not have nearly as many memorable moments as Jullien did.
As reported by Football Scotland, Albian Ajeti is expected to leave the club. Celtic are believed to be keen to offload him either permanently or on loan, before the transfer window slams shut. The Swiss striker has attracted interest from clubs but the Hoops are yet to receive a concrete bid for him.
Celtic star could follow Jullien out of the Parkhead exit door this summer
It remains to be seen if Ajeti is able to seal a Celtic exit this summer or not. It is safe to say that his chances of getting first-team football at Parkhead are slim at best at the moment. The Swiss striker did make a good start after joining from West Ham United but has been on the fringes of the squad for way too long.
He is nowhere near a starter and with Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis in spectacular form, and Daizen Maeda also capable of leading the line, even appearances off the bench might be rare for Ajeti if he stayed on at Parkhead.
Thus, a transfer exit might be the right step for all parties involved. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic end up receiving concrete offers or not.
