Coming into the summer, most Celtic fans would not have expected a lot of activity from the club. The primary target was to keep hold of Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers by signing them on permanent deals following their successful loan spells. The Hoops did that, and then some. They have brought in fresh faces in Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist permanently and Moritz Jenz on loan from Lorient.
A lot of people might have thought that their transfer business had come to an end for the summer with the arrival of Jenz but Celtic are showing no signs of stopping.
The next player set to join the club appears to be Sead Haksabanovic. Rumours regarding a move to Celtic have gone into overdrive the past couple of days and now, the move seems to be on the verge of completion.
As reported by the Daily Record, Haksabanovic is in Glasgow and has already been at Celtic’s Lennoxtown training ground. The move is now in the final stages.
Celtic are on the verge of signing long-term target
Haksabanovic appears to have been a long-term target for Celtic and they missed out on him when he made his move to Rubin Kazan last year.
Rubin Kazan were believed to have shelled out a transfer fee in the region of £6 million to sign Haksabanovic, after the Montenegro international enjoyed an exceptional season at IFK Norrkoping.
Things have not worked out for him at the Russian club though, for a variety of reasons, and now, a summer exit seems to be only a matter of time.
It is still unclear what kind of a transfer fee Celtic will be shelling out in order to sign Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan but it is expected to be much lower than what the Russian club signed him for last summer.
