Celtic find themselves in a very good position right now. They have won all three of their Premiership games till now. On the other hand, they are also in the Champions League group stage, thanks to winning the league in the previous campaign. And on top of it all, the Hoops have further strengthened the squad this summer.

Celtic did lose two key players in Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton, who left at the end of last season. But on the other hand, they have brought in fresh faces like Moritz Jenz, on loan from Lorient, Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist, while turning the loan deals of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda permanent.

Celtic are expected to make a few more signings though and rumours had broken out recently that they had agreed a transfer fee to sign Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan this summer. Unfortunately, it looks like that might not be the case after all.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are one of four clubs in talks with Rubin Kazan over a potential deal for Haksabanovic but it is understood that the Russian club have not agreed any fee yet:

Haksabanovic to Celtic transfer saga takes unexpected twist

Many fans felt that a move to Celtic was all but done for Haksabanovic, but now, it looks like that might not be the case after all.

While no fee appears to have been agreed yet, that does not mean that Celtic will not be able to do so in the future.

The player is pretty much inevitably going to leave Rubin Kazan this summer, unless something changes drastically. He is believed to be training on his own at the moment.

Someone like Haksabanovic could be a smart signing for the Hoops as it is believed that Rubin Kazan are ready to let him go for a cut-price fee.
