When Celtic brought in Moritz Jenz on loan from Lorient, many fans had thought that the club were done with their transfer business for the summer. Not only had the club signed Jota, Daizen Maeda and Cameron Carter-Vickers on permanent deals after their brilliant loan spells, but they had also brought in fresh faces like Aaron Mooy, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei on permanent deals as well.
What a lot of people forgot is that ‘we never stop’ mantra that the club has adopted since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou last summer, both on and off the pitch. They remained active in case the right players became available and now, it looks like they are set to complete another big signing.
The player in question is Sead Haksabanovic, who currently plays for Rubin Kazan, but looks set to leave this summer and is believed to be training on his own at the moment.
As reported by Sport Express, Rubin Kazan are close to an agreement with Celtic over the transfer of Haksabanovic. The clubs are discussing a permanent deal and not a loan.
Celtic are closing in on another big transfer signing in Haksabanovic
Haksabanovic is believed to have joined Rubin Kazan last summer for a transfer fee that was around €6.5 million, following his incredible performances for IFK Norrkoping. But it is safe to say that it has not worked out for him at the Russian club and he looks on the verge of an exit just a year later.
Rumours had emerged earlier this summer that Celtic had tried to sign Haksabanovic, but the deal had failed to materialise back then.
This time around, the situation seems a lot more positive and it is starting to feel only like a matter of time before he ends up becoming a Celtic player.
