Celtic have moved quickly and efficiently to get the majority of their summer transfer business done early on. The club have managed to keep the core of their team together by signing Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda on a permanent basis, while also bringing in fresh faces like Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist and Moritz Jenz, who is on a season-long loan deal from Lorient with an option to buy included.

Thus, the Celtic squad looks strong and the depth is considerably more than what it was in the previous campaign. At the same time though, the possibility of bringing in more players has not been ruled out.

One player that Celtic had been linked with earlier in the summer is Sead Haksabanovic, who currently plays for Rubin Kazan. But that move fell through.

Now though, as reported by Sportbladet (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic could be about to make another attempt to sign Haksabanovic.

Celtic could make another attempt to sign Haksabanovic

Haksabanovic is 23 years of age and plays as a winger for the Montenegro national team. He enjoyed an incredible spell at IFK Norrkoping, which led to Rubin Kazan signing him last summer for a transfer fee believed to be around €6.5 million.

It is safe to say that things have not gone his way since joining the Russian club. Haksabanovic is training on his own right now and it would be a surprise if he does not depart Rubin Kazan this summer.

There are suggestions that the player is attracted by the idea of playing for Celtic and in the Champions League.

On top of his game, Haksabanovic has proven to be an excellent player and was even signed by West Ham United as a teenager, although the move did not work out for him. The talent is quite clearly there but till now, he has not been able to showcase his best football outside of the Swedish league. Could that change if Celtic end up signing him?
