Celtic have made a pretty good start to the season. The Hoops have won all three of their games. The first two victories, against Aberdeen and Ross County, might have been closer than most fans would have been hoping for, but there was no doubt about the 5-0 win over Kilmarnock away at Rugby Park. They even had five different goal scorers on the day in the form of Kyogo, Jota, Moritz Jenz, Carl Starfelt and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

On the other hand, a club who have not made a good start to their season is Everton. The Toffees barely managed to avoid relegation last time around and Frank Lampard deserves immense credit for that. This time around, they have lost their opening two games in the Premier League, against Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Celtic and Everton are set to meet later this year in the Sydney Super Cup in Australia, and recently they have been linked with the same player as well, in the form of Ross Barkley.

But it looks like Lampard does not want to enter the race for Barkley, which would come as a boost for Celtic. Ben Jacobs tweeted out:

Celtic handed transfer boost by Lampard

There have been a lot of eyebrows raised at the suggestion that Celtic could end up making a move for Barkley.

He was once considered the biggest talent in all of England, but has failed to deliver on that potential and has spent the past several years on the fringes of the Chelsea first-team.

When he has been on the pitch, he has been decent though and a manager like Ange Postecoglou could probably get the best out of him, similar to what he did with Jota, who was struggling at Benfica as well.

Some rumours have suggested that Celtic have already submitted an offer for Barkley.
