It was almost a perfect game for Celtic. They put five past Kilmarnock away from home, with five different scorers. Kyogo, Jota, Moritz Jenz, Carl Starfelt and Giorgos Giakoumakis all got in on the act as Ange Postecoglou’s side secured three very important points and went back to the top of the Premiership table.

One man who has particularly caught the eye for Celtic is Jenz. He has been brought in on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side, Lorient, with an option to buy included in the deal.

It is too early to give a verdict on the German defender but it is safe to say that till now, he has been absolutely superb for the Hoops. He has scored in both his appearances till now, against Ross County and Kilmarnock respectively. His goal away at Rugby Park was particularly eye catching as he found the back of the net with an overhead kick.

It was not all sunshine and rainbows though, as he picked up an injury on the day as well and was forced off the pitch. Postecoglou has given an update on the defender’s situation though. As reported by The Herald, the Celtic manager said:

"“I think he is okay.“I’m not sure what the issue was.“He was feeling something but we had a look after the game and he seemed okay. It doesn’t seem like anything serious.”"

It is great news that Jenz has not picked up a serious issue because he is starting to look like an important member of this side already.

Starfelt returned on the day from his injury and found the back of the net as well, in what was his first Celtic goal, but it is safe to say that the Swede might have some serious competition for his place in the team this season.

Jenz has been very impressive in the appearances that he has made, while Stephen Welsh was also superb in the opening game of the season against Aberdeen.

These injuries are getting worrying for Celtic though, as they have already picked up way too many this early on in the campaign. Hopefully things will improve significantly in this respect moving forward.
