Things have been quiet for Celtic in recent weeks when it comes to transfers. The club made their signings early, by making the loan deals of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda permanent, while bringing in Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist and Moritz Jenz, who is on loan from Ligue 1 side Lorient. Thus, the squad has much more depth than last season.

At the same time though, the possibility of making more signings this summer has not been ruled out yet, as Celtic could be active over the last few weeks of the transfer window.

While the fans must be confident of the squad that the Hoops have been able to assemble, at the same time, there are a few positions on the pitch where they could strengthen further.

Ange Postecoglou is predicting a hectic ending to this summer transfer window though, which should excite the fans about what is to come over the next couple of weeks or so. As reported by The Scotsman, the Celtic manager said:

"“In terms of incomings we are still active.“There’s one or two areas that I would like to bring in but it has to be the right sort of players. We are definitely still active and looking at what options may be available. This transfer window is going to be pretty hectic in the last couple of weeks. I suggest there could be some opportunities there for us.“In terms of outgoings there are players who aren’t getting a lot of opportunities. I am not having discussions with anyone on a daily basis on what their future should be, that’s really up to them. I am not one to try and convince people to stay and I am not going to persuade anyone to go but the reality is there that some people will get less opportunities and if that’s not sufficient for them then they can explore other opportunities.”"

Postecoglou’s transfer prediction should excite Celtic fans

Postecoglou is one to keep his cards close to his chest and judging from his comments, it feels like Celtic are going to try to make one or two additions to their already solid squad.

There are some areas where they could definitely do with a few more options. Most fans believe that a physical midfielder is needed following the departure of Nir Bitton at the end of last season. At the same time though, the club could end up making moves for a striker or a winger, in order to increase the depth in those areas.

In recent days, they have been quite heavily linked with attacking midfielders as well, so that is a situation to keep an eye on as well over the coming weeks.
