Celtic find themselves in a good position right now. The club have won their first two league games of the season, albeit not being at their best, and sit at the top of the Premiership table. The fans are looking forward to the upcoming Champions League campaign as well, as the Hoops will be making their return to Europe’s elite competition after several years.
Celtic have done a very good job this summer, holding onto the core of their squad together, except for the exits of Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton at the end of last season, and bringing in new faces like Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist and Moritz Jenz, who is on loan from Lorient.
Some worrying rumours have broken out recently though, with Josip Juranovic being linked with a move away from the club. Earlier in the summer, there were suggestions that Atletico Madrid were interested in the Croatian and now, the names of Chelsea and Manchester United are doing the rounds.
There have been suggestions that Manchester United assistant coach, Steve McClaren, has recommended Juranovic to Erik ten Hag and now, there appears to be a worrying update regarding that matter. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Dean Jones said about the situation:
"“Interestingly, I’m told that he’s playing a part in this guy.“He’s recommended him and it feels like he’s a player that would fit in well, so I do think there’s reason to take that rumour seriously.”"
Worrying update regarding Juranovic’s Celtic future
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Juranovic. But if Manchester United did end up making a serious attempt to sign him, it would be difficult to hold onto the Croatian.
There have been suggestions that Celtic would look for a transfer fee of more than £15 million, if they were to part ways with Juranovic this summer.
It is not hard to understand why Manchester United might be interested in him as well. Right-back has been an area of weakness for them for quite some time anyway, and on top of that, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is being linked with an Old Trafford exit.
