Celtic have managed to win both of their Premiership games till now this season, but have not been at their best. They got a 2-0 win over Aberdeen on Flag Day at Parkhead but the finishing and decision making in the final third of the pitch left a lot to be desired. Then, the Hoops appeared to be in danger of dropping points away from home, before taking the lead in the 84th minute against Ross County and ultimately got a 3-1 victory.

The upcoming away trip to Kilmarnock could prove to be a tricky tie as well, as Celtic have struggled on artificial pitches over the years.

Also, it looks like they will be without Reo Hatate on the day, who had been in tremendous form before picking up knocks on the opening day. As a result, he missed the game against Ross County and he looks set to be out against Kilmarnock as well, with the pitch appearing to play a part in that decision.

As reported by Football Scotland, Ange Postecoglou said in his pre-match press conference:

"“Reo is okay but I think we will give him another week.“Particularly with the artificial surface [at Rugby Park], we are just thinking it’s probably best he gets another week of training and is available for next week.”"

Hatate had shown some brilliant form in pre-season and was very good in the opening game of the season against Aberdeen as well, but now, it looks like he is set to miss two straight matches.

Fortunately, it does look like he will be available next week. And it is safe to say that Celtic are a better team with him in it, when in full flow.

Hatate is absolutely brilliant when he is playing at his best. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, we have not gotten to see that kind of football from him on a consistent basis since his arrival in January. One can only hope that he is able to put behind his fitness issues this season and truly show what he is capable of, because it does feel like he has the potential to be one of the best in the Premiership.
