Celtic could be facing a huge transfer dilemma this summer as top English Premier League clubs appear to be showing interest in one of their first-team stars. The Hoops have done a wonderful job in keeping the core of their squad together till now, but things could get challenging in that respect.

There had already been rumours this summer suggesting that clubs across Europe, including Atletico Madrid, held an interest in Josip Juranovic. And while that has led nowhere till now, it looks like two of Premier League’s biggest clubs are eyeing a potential move as well.

Now, as reported by 90min, Chelsea are interested in signing Juranovic and have been doing background work on the Croatian international for a number of weeks, and are now considering a move. On the other hand, he is also on Manchester United’s radar as a possible solution to their problems at right-back.

It is believed that Celtic could consider letting Juranovic leave but will demand a transfer fee north of £15 million.

We’ve already seen the likes of Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Calvin Ramsay leave Scottish clubs for big transfer fees recently. Thus, Celtic should not even consider letting someone like Juranovic leave unless the offer is significant.

While the rumours are surprising, it is true that both Manchester United and Chelsea could do with a right-back at the moment. Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer while The Blues are believed to be looking for cover to Reece James at right wing-back.

Anthony Ralston already steps in regularly at right-back for Celtic but beyond him, there would be no depth if Juranovic did leave and that would cause issues for sure. Thus, the Hoops would have to go out and sign a replacement.

The best case scenario would be for Juranovic to remain at the club, with the Champions League group stage coming up as well.
