Celtic have made a decent start to their Premiership campaign, winning both of their league games till now, albeit not by a big margin. Interestingly, two of the players who have cropped up with goals till now are Stephen Welsh and Moritz Jenz. Thus, it proves that this team has goals all over the pitch.

On the other hand, Carl Starfelt is yet to play a minute of football in recent months, having spent a long spell out with injury. But he did make his return to the bench in the game against Ross County, in a major boost for Celtic.

Thus, it feels like there could be some genuine competition in the heart of defence this season. Starfelt was the regular starter last season, but Welsh and Jenz have done their chances no harm with their performances till now. This is a nice headache for Ange Postecoglou to have.

One player who seems completely lost in the shuffle though is Christopher Jullien, who only made one appearance last season. Earlier this summer, it had looked like he was close to a move to Schalke but that failed to transpire. Now, as reported by Football Scotland, no club has registered any serious interest in the French defender, which means he could find himself frozen out until January at the earliest.

It is safe to say that the situation is not ideal for either Celtic or the player and the best case scenario would see him find a new club this summer.

But that looks unlikely at this point of time and it is not hard to understand why there is very little interest in the player.

Jullien struggled with injury over the past couple of seasons and spent more than a year out of action. And even when he has returned to fitness, he has barely featured.
