Celtic have made quite a few additions to their squad this summer. Not only have they been able to keep the core of their squad together by turning the loan deals of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Daizen Maeda permanent, but at the same time, the club have also brought in new faces like Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist and Moritz Jenz, on loan from Ligue 1 club Lorient.
There are still a few areas in the squad though which could do with a bit more strengthening. One such area is on the wings.
While they have a few very good options in the form of Jota, Maeda and Liel Abada, beyond that, there does not seem to be much depth there. James Forrest was recently handed a long-term deal but he has struggled with both form and fitness for quite some time. On the other hand, Mikey Johnston has been linked with a move away on loan for a while, with a number of clubs around Europe believed to be interested in the Celtic winger.
Thus, the Hoops could do with an addition on the flanks. But it looks like the club turned down the chance to sign an international winger this summer.

As reported by Sport Express, Rubin Kazan tried for Celtic to sign Sead Haksabanovic from them. But the Hoops abandoned the idea of signing another player from the Russian club due to difficulties in cash transactions.
Haksabanovic is a regular for the Montenegro national team but it must be pointed out that despite being very highly rated, he has not shined during his time at Rubin Kazan.
Thus, there would have been major question marks over any move for him, if Celtic did decide to go ahead and sign the player from Rubin Kazan.
