Celtic have done a wonderful job ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. There were no expectations surrounding the club last summer after they were coming off of a 2020/21 campaign, when they had finished trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers. On top of that, the club had also seen several major stars like Scott Brown, Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie and others depart.

Thus, Postecoglou and his coaching staff deserve immense credit for the job that they have done over the past year or so, and one can only hope that this success will continue for the Hoops moving forward as well.

Till now this summer, we have already seen both Gavin Strachan and John Kennedy being rumoured with a move to other clubs. Interestingly, this time around, it is one of the youth team coaches who is being linked with a move away from the club.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Darren O’Dea is a left-field candidate to emerge, according to McBookie, in the race to become the Motherwell manager.

Celtic coach is being linked with a move to Motherwell

O’Dea is currently the coach of the Celtic B team and it is safe to say that he has done a wonderful job with them till now and is very highly rated at Parkhead for his contributions.

He does have affiliations with Motherwell already though, having coached at the youth level for them in the past as well. As a result, it is not a huge surprise that he is being linked with the club.

Motherwell stunningly decided to part ways with their manager even before the season started and now find themselves scrambling to come up with a solution as soon as possible.

It would be a bit of a surprise though if O’Dea managed to spring ahead of other candidates to get the Motherwell job this summer.
