Celtic’s Joe Hart is someone who has been part of league-winning sides before, as he was one of the cornerstones of the Manchester City team, which first changed the landscape of English football. And after struggling for several years, and even losing his status as a first-team goalkeeper, he has proven at Parkhead that he is still a top-class player.

Hart played a key part in Celtic’s Premiership win last season. The campaign before that, the Hoops did not have a clear number one between the posts, with Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard, all failing to nail down their spot in the starting XI.

Hart has come in and ended that problem, establishing himself as the number one as well as a leader in this team, becoming a fan favourite in the process.

He seems to have been blown away by the atmosphere at Celtic Park on Flag Day though. After the game, Hart wrote on Instagram:

"Flag day …. New one for me but wow it was special 🤩 great to be back at it … special place 💚💚"

Hart sends sensational message to Celtic fans after Flag Day experience

The atmosphere was truly incredible on Flag Day, as Celtic took on Aberdeen. Ange Postecoglou’s side were not at their brilliant best but even then, they were good enough to get a 2-0 win and all three points, thanks to goals from Stephen Welsh and Jota.

The people who were at their brilliant best on the day though were the Celtic fans. The tifo and the atmosphere on the day was exceptional, even by their own sky high standards. After the disaster that was the 2020/21 campaign, it is no surprise that they were ready to celebrate their unexpected title win in Postecoglou’s first season in charge.

Not only has Hart shown that he is still a league-winning goalkeeper but he will also get a chance to show his quality in the Champions League after a long time. He does have some competition this season in Benjamin Siegrist.
