One of Celtic’s biggest strengths ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager, has been their ability to identify and sign players, who are a good fit in their style of football. And one of their best finds in recent times has been Matt O’Riley, who was signed from MK Dons in January and has quickly gone on to become an important member of this team.

There were a lot of question marks over O’Riley, when he was signed. Many wondered whether he would be able to make the jump from English League One football to the Scottish Premiership. Also, it had not looked like he was Celtic’s first-choice last January, as they had initially been linked with Australian midfielder, Riley McGree, who ended up joining Middlesbrough instead.

Many believe O’Riley to be the successor of Tom Rogic in this team. There were a lot of doubts raised about his future at Parkhead recently though, as he was linked with a move to Leicester City.

But as reported by 67 Hail Hail, Leicester City have no current interest in O’Riley and are not looking to sign him.

Sensational update about O’Riley’s future at Celtic

It goes without saying that this is great news for Celtic. It looks like they are about to avoid losing any of their key players this summer.

O’Riley might even be a regular starter for Celtic this season, with Rogic leaving the club at the end of last season. While he has big shoes to fill, he has shown promising signs till now.

It remains to be seen how things go on from here but it does feel like Celtic might have been able to strengthen their squad this summer and look ready to defend the league title this season. Of course, the Rangers are looking strong as well.
