Ange Postecoglou delivers brilliant Celtic transfer hint
Celtic are set to kick off their Premiership title defence against Aberdeen at Parkhead on Flag Day. On the other hand, the Rangers managed to avoid a massive opening day scare to come from behind to beat Livingston 2-1. The Hoops will be hoping that their opener is much more straightforward though and they can get a convincing win over the Dons.
Of course, that is easier said than done. Aberdeen have been in great form this season till now and must be confident of their chances of causing an upset, and taking point off of the defending champions in their own backyard.
It will be very interesting to see where this Celtic team is at right now. They had an unbeaten pre-season but then, ended up drawing three games as well. So things were not perfect.
The club have already made several signings this summer but it looks like they might not be ready to close the door on their transfer business for the window just yet. As reported by Glasgow Live, Ange Postecoglou said:
"“I’m pleased with where we’re at but there’s still four weeks of the window open and we’ll still be active and agile to see where we can strengthen.“There will be some outgoings and some opportunities potentially to bring others in but there’s nothing set in stone with that.“Where we sit right now, we’ve done the crucial bits I thought we needed to do and, if there are some areas we can still improve on in the next couple of weeks, we will.”"
Postecoglou delivers brilliant Celtic transfer hint ahead of season opener vs Aberdeen
It will be very interesting to see which positions Celtic end up targeting if they do decide to make more signings this season.
On one hand, they have brought in four new faces this summer in the form of Aaron Mooy, Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist and Moritz Jenz, on loan from Ligue 1 side Lorient. They have also turned the loan deals of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda permanent.
But on the other hand, there are some question marks over this squad as well and whether they have been able to replace Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton, with the veteran duo leaving Celtic at the end of last season.
While nothing seems to be set in stone, judging from Postecoglou’s comments, it does feel like Celtic could still make a few additions this summer.
