Celtic have been very busy this summer, both in terms of incomings and outgoings. They have signed players who have strengthened the squad and could still end up adding a few more before the transfer window slams shut. On the other hand, there are a number of players who have headed out of the Parkhead door as well, either permanently or on loan.

The squad does seem to be pretty set right now and more in line with Ange Postecoglou’s vision. Of course, there are a few areas where they could still do with some reinforcements and it remains to be seen if they are made this summer.

In terms of exits, there have not been any high profile ones this time around. Interestingly, Stephen Welsh does seem to be a man in demand though.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic have rejected a bid from Toulouse for Welsh, which was a season-long loan with an option to buy in the region of £3.5 million, plus add-ons:

Celtic have rejected transfer bid for defender

Welsh was not a regular in the starting XI last season but with Carl Starfelt out injured at this point of time, he might very well be filling that role at the start of this campaign.

Welsh is a decent defender but does not look ready to be a starter for Celtic at this point of time. He has plenty of time to develop though and could very well be good enough for that role in the future.

Thus, it would make sense for the club to hold on to him if they believe that he has the potential to be the long-term solution at centre-back one day. It remains to be seen what the future holds but for now, it does not feel like Welsh will be leaving the club this summer.
