Celtic have done a brilliant job when it comes to making new signings this summer. While retaining Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda means that the Hoops have managed to keep hold of the team’s core, the additions of Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist, Moritz Jenz and Aaron Mooy have undoubtedly strengthened the squad.

Despite already improving the depth in quality with the new signings, it might not be the end of Celtic’s transfer business this summer. There have been suggestions that a few new faces could still come in the door but it could depend on the outgoings.

Celtic have already allowed multiple players to leave this summer. But there are potentially more who could be on their way out soon.

One such player could turn out to be Albian Ajeti, with the Swiss striker struggling to break into Ange Postecoglou’s plans and as a result, a move away might be the best step for all parties involved.

Postecoglou appears to hint at Celtic player’s potential exit this summer

As reported by Football Scotland, Postecoglou said:

"“Ajeti has had a bit of a knee problem but he trained in Glasgow while we are in Poland last week. We’ll see what happens. There’s still time in this window and there will be some movement.”"

Since joining Celtic from West Ham United for a transfer fee of around £5 million in the summer of 2020, the Swiss striker has failed to impress with his performances.

To be fair, he did make an excellent start in a Celtic shirt, but ended up suffering an injury early on in his run at Parkhead. Since then, he has never managed to rediscover his form and mostly spent his time on the fringe of the first-team picture.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 17 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing an assist across all competitions for Celtic last season.

With the club having options like Kyogo, Giorgos Giakoumakis and even Maeda, it is hard to see Ajeti getting any real game time anytime soon. Thus, him leaving might be the best step for his career at this point.
