Celtic look set to face the toughest test of their pre-season till now when they take on Norwich City. The Canaries recently got relegated from the Premier League but are a team that has been yo-yoing between the two top divisions of English football for some time now. The Hoops have not had the greatest of pre-seasons till now and this will be a good test for them.

Now, Ange Postecoglou’s side have looked incredible at times. But then, they have also given up leads far too often. While this is only pre-season and the results don’t matter, the manager must surely be hoping to work out that aspect as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Norwich City, are expected to have aspirations of being promoted back to the Premier League this season once again, after a disappointing 2021/22 campaign.

Norwich City manager, Dean Smith, appears to be looking forward to The Canaries’ visit to Celtic Park. They will also take on Hibernian during their trip to Scotland. As reported by the club’s official website, he said:

"“Looking forward to it.“It’s going to be two tough games and we’ve got to balance the squad appropriately and are looking to get all the lads 90 minutes at least, but we’ve got to balance it especially if Christos and Christoph aren’t involved, but what a great place to go for Celtic Park on Saturday and Easter Road on Sunday.”"

One can only hope that Celtic are able to get a win this time around, to build up some confidence if nothing else.

They just have not been able to put together a comprehensive 90-minute performance till now. That was the problem for them last season as well, when they blew away teams early on but appeared to lose a lot of steam as the game wore on.

That might be a side effect of Postecoglou’s high intensity style of football, and Celtic will need to get better at that, especially as they will be coming up against top class opposition in the Champions League, who will take advantage of those drop offs in intensity and performance later on in games.
