Celtic have done a very good job when it comes to picking and signing players ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. It has been one of the key reasons behind their success last season when the Hoops were able to win the double, when nobody had even expected them to come close to challenging the Rangers.

Thus, it is only natural that their players will draw the interest of clubs from around Europe and it looks like one man who has his sights set is former Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, who is currently with Leicester City.

The player who seems to have drawn the attention of Rodgers is Matt O’Riley, who has been an absolute revelation since being signed from MK Dons last January. He is viewed by many as the long-term successor to Tom Rogic in this team, after the Australian left at the end of last season.

But as reported by The Telegraph (via Football Scotland), O’Riley is one of three priority targets for Rodgers along with Chelsea’s Levi Colwill and PSV Eindhoven’s Noni Madueke.

Celtic star is being linked with stunning move to Leicester City

Initially, it had looked like Celtic wanted to sign Riley McGree in January but when that failed to materialise, they made the move to sign O’Riley from MK Dons.

A lot of eyebrows were raised at the time. While O’Riley had been doing very well with MK Dons, at the end of the day, it was still League One football and many fans wondered whether he would be able to make the jump to Celtic.

It is safe to say that the Denmark youth star has proved a lot of critics wrong over the last several months and is now a key player for the Hoops, in a massive boost.
