After signing Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz, Celtic’s transfer plans moving forward this summer are unclear. They have moved quickly to strengthen the squad but at the same time, if this proved to be the end of it, it could be a bit underwhelming considering the financial boost provided by their guaranteed spot in the Champions League.
Hopefully, Celtic will make an addition or two more. While Mooy and Jenz could prove to be good additions, neither of them feel like regular starters. In fact, Celtic might not have signed a single new starting player this summer till now, with the likes of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda already at Parkhead on loan last season.
Let’s see where things go from here but one player that they should keep an eye on is Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour.
As reported by the Evening Standard, Thomas Tuchel has taken the decision to send Gilmour, Harvey Vale and Tino Anjorin to the Chelsea Under-23s pre-season camp.

Things do not seem to be looking up for Gilmour when it comes to his chances of playing first-team football for Chelsea next season, with him being sent to train with the under-23s.
Now, Gilmour might be just 21 years of age, but he has appeared to be in and around the first-team for years now. He has not gotten a lot of chances since the arrival of Tuchel as manager though and spent the previous season on loan at Norwich City.
Gilmour was a youth star at Rangers before moving to Chelsea, and as a result, some Celtic fans might raise an eyebrow at the idea of making a move for him but that should not stand in the Hoops’ way.
Someone like Gilmour could be a tremendous addition on loan. We have already seen what he is capable on his day while with the Scotland national team, and while it has not worked out for him at Chelsea till now, there is no question about his talent.
