It is no secret that Celtic could do with another defender this summer. Christopher Jullien’s future at the club remains up in the air after he has barely played football for the last two years due to serious injury problems. He is being linked with a move away from the club and even if he stayed on, he does not look like someone who could make a positive contribution to the team at this point of time.

On the other hand, Stephen Welsh does not look like he is ready to come in and be a regular starter for Celtic, if either of their first choice centre-backs in Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers ended up picking long term injuries next season.

As a result, the club could do with another option in the heart of their defence and one player who was being linked with a move to Parkhead on social media is Levi Colwill of Chelsea.

But now, as reported by Football Scotland, Celtic have no interest in a move for Colwill.

Celtic have no interest in move for brilliant Chelsea defender

Colwill is just 19 years of age but he was absolutely brilliant last season while on loan in the Championship with Huddersfield Town. Many believe that he can be starter for the Blues one day but at this point of time, he is not on that level.

As a result, he could be on the move this summer, either on loan or on a permanent basis, with the club recently signing Kalidou Koulibaly and also being linked with moves for star players like Jules Kounde and Presnel Kimpembe.

This could have opened up an opportunity for Celtic to make a loan move for Colwill. But it does not look like they will be doing that. Also, even if the Hoops wanted to sign the youngster, there would have been heavy competition for his signature.
