Celtic’s transfer approach has changed quite drastically ever since the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as manager. In the past, one would have expected moves to drag on for weeks before being completed. But now, there is an efficiency about the Hoops, especially when it comes to getting deals over the line. This summer, they have already brought in five players and a couple more arrivals are expected over the coming week.

It remains to be seen how things turn out but it must be said that Celtic definitely need reinforcements in a few positions.

One rumour that refuses to go away is the one involving Edouard Michut of PSG. The Hoops were linked with the player by several journalists a few days back but Postecoglou decided to play down things in the media, as it looked like the club were not after the youngster.

But as tweeted out by Nicolo Schira, Celtic are working to try to sign Michut from PSG:

This is a bit of a surprise to say the least. While Postecoglou often likes to keep things close to his chest, this time around, he did come out to downplay the rumours surrounding Celtic and Michut. After that, one would not expect the Hoops to go after the highly-rated PSG attacking midfielder.

Let’s see how things turn out but it just feels unlikely that Celtic would sign someone like Michut this summer. Firstly, they need players in defensive midfield and in central defence before they go after someone further up the pitch.

Secondly, PSG appear to be looking for a significant transfer fee for someone like Michut, who is not proven at the top level and has only made a few appearances for the French champions till now. Thus, one would not expect Celtic to go for him if the figures doing the rounds in the media are accurate, although he is a very talented prospect.
