Celtic find themselves in a very different place right now when compared to where they were just a year ago. The Hoops are the reigning champions of Scotland and will be going into the season with the aim of defending their crown against the Rangers. On the other hand, Ange Postecoglou’s side also have a guaranteed spot in the upcoming Champions League campaign. Safe to say things are looking up for the club.

On the other side of town, the Rangers find themselves chasing Celtic once again, something that they have done for a long time now, with the exception of the previous season when they were the defending champions.

The Ibrox side would have been hoping to string together a few Premiership wins at least, but Postecoglou’s side ended up coming out on top against all odds and expectations.

And now, it looks like the Rangers have injury problems to worry about as well. Ianis Hagi could potentially be out for the rest of the year. As reported by Glasgow Live, Giovanni van Bronckhorst said about his situation:

"“It is an injury that is complicated, and I don’t expect him to be back before the World Cup break.”"

Hagi is not the only injury worry for the Rangers either. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Filip Helander is set to see a specialist after yet another injury setback for the defender.

Thus, things are not looking up for the Rangers at the moment although they have made a few signings this summer.

One lesson that Celtic should learn from the previous season though is that it would be a mistake for them to count the Rangers out. A lot of people had counted out the Hoops the last time around and they ended up winning a Premiership and League Cup double.

So anything is possible in football and Postecoglou’s side cannot afford to take the Rangers lightly for a second even if they are struggling with injuries at the moment.
