Josip Juranovic has established himself as a starter at Celtic ever since his arrival from Legia Warsaw last summer. The Croatian international has proven to be one of Ange Postecoglou’s most trusted players, who has been deployed at right-back, left-back and even on the wings when the situation has called for it. That kind of versatility came in very handy, especially in the first half of the season, when the Hoops did not have a deep squad and a lot of injury problems.

As a result, Celtic fans will be hoping that Juranovic remains at the club for the foreseeable future. He is 26 years of age and entering his prime.

Naturally though, his performances appear to have caught the attention of clubs all around Europe. Some rumours earlier this summer even suggested that he was set to leave the club but thankfully, it appears that they were off the mark.

While Juranovic appears to have been honoured to be linked with a club like Atletico Madrid, it seems that he is looking forward to playing in the Champions League with Celtic. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, while speaking with RTL, the Croatian international said:

"“I hope there was something in the stories, but honestly I didn’t even ask our manager or anything about it. I didn’t care.“I have to keep my feet firmly on the ground. It was Atletico Madrid after all, but I’m at a big club already, Celtic.“Finally I have the chance to play in the Champions League here. Just to hear the atmosphere, that anthem and to get to play on that stage.”"

Juranovic’s comments should be music to the ears of the Celtic fans and it does not feel like he is someone who is seeking a move away from Parkhead.

It is also worth pointing out that not only has Juranovic been impressive on the pitch but he has also managed to establish himself as a firm fan favourite.

He is someone who looks like he is ready to play against some of the top teams in Europe in the Champions League. And hopefully, Celtic will be able to keep him at Parkhead for a long time to come. He is a ‘fireball’ after all.
